The Road Not Seen

Hi! I'm Marianne! And I probably like you! For now! =D

Robert Frost has always been one of my favorite poets, but "The Road Not Taken" gets a little old after a while. I love it, it's wonderful, but it's time for something new. A new start, a new chapter. Something different and unexpected. Instead of just strolling down "the one less traveled by," or doubling back for "The Road Not Taken," why not take The Road Not Seen? Just slip through the bushes on the side of the path, and make your own way in the world. Who knows, maybe I'll find someone new. (But watch out for poison ivy, that shit sucks).

A little about me...I love Harry Potter (I'm a Slytherin, don't judge me), Team Starkid, Doctor Who (DT is my favorite), almost all music (I hate bluegrass, and Wrock is awesome), theatre, daisies, and my friends. I also love tea and coffee (I'm addicted to caffeine) and You've Got Mail is my favorite movie. That's pretty much me in a nutshell. I'm a very cuddly and caring person, and I trust people (sometimes too much). I'm majoring in Television and hoping to get into live news in some capacity (but not in front of the camera...I'll leave that to the pretty faces). I am always open to new things; I love learning from my friends and the various people I meet in the city. Oh yes, I also love Philadelphia. It really is a great place to live and learn.

“Nostalgia is denial - denial of the painful present… the name for this denial is golden age thinking - the erroneous notion that a different time period is better than the one ones living in - its a flaw in the romantic imagination of those people who find it difficult to cope with the present.”

“Adriana, if you stay here though, and this becomes your present, then pretty soon you’ll start imagining another time was really the golden time. That’s what the present is. It’s a little unsatisfying because life is a little unsatisfying.”

So many of the quotes from this movie, especially from Hemingway, are truly inspiring.
